Ben-Ohau has large and varied landscapes available for exclusive filming locations.

Ben-Ohau was the location for the filming in 2000 of the final battle scenes in the Lord Of The Rings movie, "The Return Of The King".

The nearby township of Twizel has the appropriate infrastructure for supporting film crews.
